king of anything
As much as he tried to bring his mind back to the world of living, he couldn’t. Hugo was going to die. It was the last class of the day, but he was going to die. Disorderly students chatted as made their way to vacant seats. He didn’t have the will in him to shut them up. The shifter only smiled crookedly. His eyes were listless and his arms barely had any life in them. His schedule during the past few days had been busy, intense. Extracurricular activities kept his day full to the brim and the only time he had to himself—which was during the night—was spent glancing over online courses. Then he had to visit his family over the weekend…
Hugo exhaled and shifted in his seat before focusing on the class he was in. Drama class. The last course he’d ever imagined himself taking. To be frank, the shifter found it to be useless. Not to mention a waste of time. But his future Alpha ordered him to take it and he wasn’t in any position to refuse that person. Irritatingly enough, though, that person had decided to play hooky today.
Shifting his gaze around the room, Hugo scowled. The teacher had barely arrived and a few more students trickled in. He covered his face with his hands before groaning. “I am going to murder someone…” he muttered thoughtlessly, just loud enough for those around him to hear if they weren’t already absorbed in their own conversations. It wasn’t often Hugo—as a model student—allowed himself to slip up. But like his attire, which consisted of an old blue Ralph Lauren polo and khakis, Hugo felt worse for wear. He just wanted the day to end.
