THIS CAFÉ SITS RIGHT ON THE EDGE OF THE LAKE. IT'S A SMALL PLACE, WITH ENOUGH SEATING FOR FIFTY OR SO PEOPLE, AND IT'S WALLS ARE MOSTLY GLASS FOR EVERYONE TO HAVE AN EXCEPTIONAL VIEW OF THE LAKE AND LUXE ISLAND. IT HAS A COZY ATMOSPHERE AND IS OPEN 365 DAYS A YEAR FROM 5 IN THE MORNING TIL 10 AT NIGHT.

ASIDE FROM DESDEMONA WOODS, BROOKINGS PARK IS THE LARGEST AREA OF GRASSY LAND IN BROOKINGS. THERE ARE NOT MANY TREES AND IT'S BEEN MISTAKEN AS A GOLF COURSE A FEW TIMES. IT'S A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE IN THE SUN AND PICNIC, OR HOST ENTERTAINMENT AS IT'S LARGE ENOUGH FOR A STAGE TO BE BUILT ON.

THE RUMORS HAVE BEEN FLOATING AROUND ABOUT THE BOAT HOUSE FOR YEARS. MANY BELIEVE IT'S HAUNTED, OTHERS JUST THINK THERE IS A LOOSE BOAT IN THERE AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO GO INSIDE AND CHAIN IT UP. THE NOISES ARE SUBTLE, BUT SOMETIMES IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING MORE THERE.
