It started out as one of those days when you struggle to keep a smile on your face. Cameron had had a fitful night, devoid of sleep or any sort of rest. She knew she shouldn't have watched that scary movie - the blonde was terrible with horror stuff. Now her nerves were frayed and every step was a lot of effort. The usually bubbly girl groaned exaggeratedly and glanced around the gardens. The blooming flowers released sweet scents into the air and attracted all sorts of colourful butterflies and stripy bumblebees. A hedge maze lingered nearby, the leaves of which were full and trimmed. A staff member has suggested a calming walk through the gardens would stop her from getting stressed out any further - a good idea... which had failed to work. Prepared to go back to her aunt's house, Cameron paused as she spotted a flicker of yellow movement near her arm. She turned her head and almost had a heart attack. WASP! Cameron didn't mind insects but these stripy assholes were the worst. With a loud yelp of shock, Cameron flailed at the wasp and stumbled over her own ankles. As she fell onto the grass, the wasp followed after her. A familiar but unpleasant sensation rocked through her and she knew she was shifting - the fact of which only made her even more stressed. The sudden form change didn't disturb the wasp and it buzzed angrily near Cameron's ears. With another more-canine yelp, Cameron scrabbled away from the harmful insect and bolted for cover; her instincts leading her into the maze... where she quickly became lost. @ygraine - wasps are evil MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

The gardens were generally a bit too well kept to be the twins' preferred stomping grounds and yet they found themselves there far more often than one would think. Today they ducked into them to avoid a gaggle of Ygraine's friends who neither of them felt like dealing with at the moment. The nights apart made them both low on sleep- especially Emrys. He got better rest when he and his sister escaped for a run in the woods, or he lay at her feet in dog form while she studied or did whatever it was she did. He honestly didn't keep track most of the time. They were really just looking for a place to be alone for a while and be in each others' company. Ducking out of sight behind some trees, Emrys wrapped his arms around Ygraine's waist and just rested his forehead on her shoulder, breathing in her scent. His shoulders tremored with tension finally released in his twin's silent company. He needed this, needed a moment to stop pretending to be normal. He just needed a few heartbeats to gather himself and remember what mattered. She nuzzled his short hair so like her own in color and texture. Even his scent when he inhaled was like hers, with some subtle differences that made his deeper and more earthy. She closed her eyes and rested her cheek against the top of his head. Her arms wound up around his neck, hands dangling loosely over his shoulders. He was always so strong for her, she mused. She often forgot that he was just as lost without her. A yelp startled them both, two sets of ice blue eyes flashing open in an instant. They untangled themselves from each other, suddenly alert and curious. The second yelp held a not that they both thought they recognized- some kind of canine. And there was something in it that was more than a little familiar. Just then a sleek copper form darted past on long legs, dissappearing into the opening of the hedge maze. Emrys didn't even pause to think. He shrugged his backpack off and opened it- Ygraine dropped her clothes into his hands as she quickly stripped and shifted, slinking off towards the maze even as he was still shoving things into the bag. He followed suit a moment later, pausing just to shove the backpack under a bush before he too shifted. Then the two gangle maned wolves made their way with hunter's stealth into the twisting depths of the maze. It wasn't hard to follow the stranger's scent, different from their own and laced with the acrid taste of fear. There was no real way to circle and ambush in this knd of place, especially since they hadn't spent much time exploring the maze. Instead they simply moved forward, Emrys keeping pace level with his sister's shoulder. They kept a little distance between them, to allow for more freedom of movement. Ygraine peered cautiously around a corner into a dead end, eyes brightening to find their quarry there. Oh good. Now they had a chance to get a good look at the stranger. Boldly the female shifter stepped around the corner into full view, black mane bristling slightly and tail held stiff. Emrys lingered behind her and to one side, helping to block in the exit. She didn't smell like someone from their pack. All the more reason to make sure she knew her place before they tried to figure out where she came from. CAMERON JENNY WALKER

Cameron wasn't aware of where she was going; trusting her paws to twist and turn around the dense hedges. Thankfully, she eventually came to a stop, by running headfirst into a hedge wall. Jumping backwards, she shook herself - dislodging several leaves stuck around the thick ebony fur coating her shoulders. Cameron glanced upwards, looking at how tall the wall is, before sitting herself down to breathe and gather herself - her tongue lolling out of her mouth as she panted heavily. Suddenly, an unfamiliar scent assaulted her nose. She twisted her head around to look behind her; her eyes widening as she spotted the two. Maned wolves! Like her! Cameron's tail immeadiatly began to wag. The only other maned wolf shifter she knew of was her dad! Scrambling to her feet like some naive pup, she started trotting towards the two with her tail on a spring. However, she slowly came to a halt a meter or two in front of them - staring at them in confusion. Well, at the female mostly. The two smelled very similar but the male held back whilst the female seemed oddly angry... Cameron glanced over her shoulder to see if the girl was bristling at something else before turning to stare at them again. One of her black ears went crooked as she tilted her head ever so slightly, her tail slowly wagging cautiously. Despite her shows of friendliness, Cameron couldn't stop the fur on her shoulders bristling with unease. @ygraine - wasps are evil MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
