Mira is very open about her sexuality. She isn't shy by any means, and knows that by using her body she can get pretty much whatever she wants. Not that she's shallow or uses people, but when she wants someone, she knows how to use her body to get them attracted to her. She doesn't care what gender either, she enjoys a lot of things. As long as she has a good time, she doesn't care what it is she's playing with. She changes her attraction moment by moment. She's never satisfied with the same old thing. She's like a cat with a ball of yarn, once she's played with it for a few minutes, it loses it's charm and she wants to play with something else. As such, Bell has a very short attention span, so short in fact that she could be in the middle of a performance and get distracted by something shiny in an audience member's hand and completely disregard the rest of her performance to go investigate this new contraption. And yes, she has been known to chase red dots.
She's highly active, never staying in one spot for too long, and always has a smile on her face that can either be contagious or extremely annoying. She's a very "in your face" kind of person. She has a curiosity level over 9000, and will be all up in your business unless you tell her to leave you alone. And even then, it'd take a lot of yelling at her to back off before she actually does it. She's very true to her cat-like nature. She's stubborn, curious, and ignores when people tell her to get lost. She won't leave until she's satisfied, or until they have a locked door between them and her. She understands having personal space though. There are times when she wants to be alone, curled up with a blanket and a book, or stretched out in the sun, sleeping. When she doesn't want to be bothered she'll tell you kindly once, and only once, and any pestering after that will get you the vocal lashing of a life time.
In her cat form she enjoys, above all else, belly rubs. She isn't vicious in any sense of the word, but rather very cuddly and adorable. She has down set eyes that make her appear sad, but at the same time are warm enough to show others that she is approachable. However, if you wrong her, or hurt her or someone she cares about in any way, she will attack you. She has a mother-like instinct in and out of cat form that makes her a force to be reckoned with.
She doesn't put up with douche bags, bitches, or dicks. She isn't one for patience, and will not pretend to be interested in something that is obviously boring for her. That especially goes for commercials on TV between her show. She can't stand to wait for the show to come back on so she'll skip around channels until something interests her. Until an hour later when she realizes that she missed the rest of her show because she was so distracted by other things. Aside from her short attention span, Mira does enjoy and partakes in several naps a day. She doesn't care where she sleeps, though she prefers soft surfaces, she's been caught sleeping on tables, walls, and even on top of bookcases in the library. She enjoys high places where she can look out over everything, makes her feel important, and keeps her from wondering if she's going to be attacked from behind.

There was once a fairy tale, that gypsy's would share around their camp fires, and like all good tales, it started with:
Once upon a time...
There lived three gypsy witches. They were sisters, born under the same star and gifted with magic. The oldest by mere minutes was Esme. She was the sweetest of the three and a healer for their Caravan. She was the one who took on a leadership role for their family and the other two sisters did not mind one bit. The middle sister was Relma. She was gifted with the sight, and protected their family by telling the Caravan when it was time to move on, or when it was time to find shelter for the incoming storms. And the youngest of the three, by only six minutes, was Niasha. She was a kind woman, who was born with only half the powers of her sisters. She didn't mind though, she was all too happy to allow her sisters share a limelight she wanted no part of.
That is until they found Zaceah. Zaceah was a farmer's son, kicked from his father's land after he was caught gambling against his family's wishes. Niasha found him on the road, starving and too weak to move on his own. She feed him sweet berries and water, and covered him in her jacket so that he may sleep with warmth. In the morning, Zaceah was able to move on his own, and Niasha (having grown a crush on the boy) offered him to come back to her Caravan. He agreed, and they made the trip back to her home talking idly between them. Now, it was no secret that Zaceah was a very handsome man. And upon entering the fields where her Caravan waited, Niasha could already tell that her sisters were just as taken in by him as she was.
It wasn't long before Niasha realized that her sisters were fighting for his affections as much as she was. And it didn't take long for her to realize that her sister, Esme, had used her knowledge over the herbs she used to heal to concoct a potion to make Zaceah fall in love with her. Niasha became angry, filling with a hatred she hadn't realized was contained within her. She approached her sister, confronting her and blaming her for taking Zaceah away from her. Esme grew angry, denying the accusations, though knowing they were true.
Niasha left the Caravan, hatred seething within her. She left to the forests for five days and nights before returning, a wild look in her eyes. She stood near the clearing, raising her hands to the skies and chanting beneath her breath. Clouds began to swirl above them, but before her sisters could stop her, Niasha cursed the family.
"May the young of your family be born as the beasts of the night. May they know only fear, hatred, and the want for human flesh. May you die knowing, that you're children may never see the light of day or know the kindness of a smile!" With that she left eh clearing for the last time, never returning to her family.
But, being as her power was only half that of her sister, the curse only worked half of the time.
Mira, was one of those times.
Bell was born and raised in the squalor of London. She was the child of a gypsy, and by birth she (like all the other gypsy's) were branded as miscreants from the moments they took their first breaths. In London gypsy's were treated horrible, as though they had some wild disease that would infect and kill everyone else. She spent her childhood running through the streets with her brothers and friends, watching those in suits and dresses ride by in carriages and chasing behind them begging for a pence or pound. Anything to put a spot of tea in their pots and a bit of bread or cheese on their table. Mira would watch the high women who walked the streets, their dresses dripping in pearls, sapphires and gems. She felt jealous of them, always wishing she could wear a dress of such beauty one day.
When she turned ten, her father decided to leave London behind and raise his children with his brother's Caravan outside the city walls. Mira was sad at first, it meant leaving behind a lot of her friends, the only people she ever knew. But once outside the city walls she felt as though she'd walked into Heaven. There was sun shine that wasn't overcast with the fog of the city, she was able to run through fields of grass barefoot without having to worry about stepping on something. And the best part was there was no distasteful smell in the air like there was in the squalor of the city. There were the occasional run ins with the Queen's Guard, they taxed the Caravan, stealing items from the tents and threatening the older boys. And their eyes always strayed to the women, lingering far too long on the faces of the girls. The older women began to shoo the younger girls into the tents when the Queen's Guard arrived, but Mira wouldn't listen and strayed to a nearby tree to watch the men as they harassed her family. She found she rather liked being perched inside the tree, and found herself returning there often through out the her years.
As she neared her thirteenth birthday, things began to change around her. She began to hear and smell things that were miles away, her senses seemed to be on overdrive, and she wasn't entirely sure why it was happening. She talked to her father about it, but he shrugged it off, blaming her imagination. She decided to believe him and stopped thinking about it. On the night before her birthday her father surprised her with a camping trip, just the two of them. She was excited, seeing as how living in a Caravan required all of them to work constantly, and spending time with her father was rare.
That night he played the sitar for her as she fell asleep. Mira never questioned the intentions of her father, but in the middle of the night, as the half moon loomed above them, she felt sharp pains within her. She cried out in pain, only to have her father stifle her screams as he held her head against the ground. Mira became even more confused, thrashing against her father as fire and pain rained upon her. Her father sat still above her, keeping her contained and humming a peaceful song as he watched her... Shift.
In the morning Mira awoke for the first time as a panther. She was even more scared and confused than the night before wondering how she ended up as an animal. She thrashed and rolled around on the ground, her mouth opening to scream but releasing a roar instead. She laid there in misery on the grassy field before she heard any kind of movement. Looking up she saw her father. Anger welled inside her as he approached, his air was confident, as though he knew she wouldn't hurt him. But she was filled with enough confusion to lash out regardless.
He talked to her in a soothing voice. Explaining the story of their past. The witch who cursed their family and the fact that Mira was only the second female in the lineage to ever shift. Usually it affected the males, but even then, she was one of five shifters in the family. He taught her how to shift back, leaving her alone as she shifted so as not to bother her. On his return Mira found herself with a million questions, all of which her father answered on the way back to their Caravan.
Years passed by quickly for Mira, she found that she aged into her twenties, but then she stopped completely. She became more curious and open with herself as the years continued, but became overcome with sorrow as she watched her mother, father and brother aging without her, and dying, slowly. Her mother was the first, passing on in the night peacefully. Her brother passed next, caught up in a fight with the Queen's Guard that he couldn't win. And the one that broke her heart for decades was her father. She held his hand as he passed, her heartbeat stopping with his.
In depression she left the Caravan. Traveling the countryside for a few decades, never staying in one place too long. She slowly healed from the loss of her father, but nothing brought her back to the happiness she knew when he was alive. A century and a half passed before she skipped over the pond and came to America as a singer. She spent another few decades moving around the country, never staying in one place for too long as usual, but found herself becoming more a more like her old self as the wounds in her heart healed.
She became a dancer and singer for small cafes, finding Brookings a decent place to stay after she discovered the purpose of Masquerade Academy.

`` ABILITY/POWER
Shifter Mira is a cat shifter. In her animal form she appears to be a sleek, black panther with a pink nose and more gray than black ears, and a very subtle gray tip to her tail. Her paws are a bit larger than they should be, which make them more dangerous, but also a bit clumsy if she isn't paying attention while she's running around.
