Human
As a child he was trained to think rationally and without compassion. He grew up with other young kids, hunting and killing animals and enemies of his village. As the Leader's son, Jediah was treated differently, he needed to be a strong, steady figure that his village could look to to protect them once his father passed on the village to him. As such Jediah fought this stereotype that the Elders tried to beat into him, and became a friendly, compassionate young man who enjoyed joking with his people, but was ready for battle at any time.
He grew up taking care of his father, always sheltering his personal feelings to keep a smile on his face and ease in the hearts of those who trusted him. But he was a very trustworthy person. He wasn't one for blood and battle, but would gladly run you through with a sword if you threatened him, his people, or his village.
Once his father passed, Jediah felt some peace ease into him. Though he loved his father dearly not having to see his father dying was a relief to him. In the years following he became a great leader to the village, and as he spread his wings over to Ireland and Scotland he began to become more and more like his father He had a rough exterior that made him seem unapproachable, but to every one who knew him he was a giant teddy bear.
Immortal
As an immortal, Jediah let his grief over take him. He became solemn, solitary, sitting for hours on end staring at a wall or a jug of wine without touching it. His grief at the loss of Makyah and the deal he made with the gods caused him to slowly slip into madness. Though it would take several centuries for it to fully sink in, Jediah was going mad at the anger and sorrow that constantly filled his heart.
Angel
As an angel you don't have much for emotions, at least as a warrior that Jediah was, you were stripped of everything but your memories and how to fight. He didn't mind it, because it helped him to sort through his thoughts without having his remorse get in the way.
Fallen
With his soul cleansed as an Angel, the grief and anger that battled within him for several centuries was gone, and Jediah is back to being more of a teddy bear than an emotionally unattached angel. He found reasons to smile, and laugh, and above all his will to love and be loved was back.
Though he still has his rough and tough outer appearance, once you get to know him you find that he's friendly and enjoys joking around. He's fiercely protective of Makyah, but also of others he comes across. He's someone who'll throw themselves in the middle of a fight to break it up, trying to keep the peace among people. Mostly because he hates drama.

The Human Years
Born in the later years of the eighth century, Jediah was raised along the shores of Scandinavia. The son of a viking, he was destined to become as such. Nearing his fourth birthday, his father sent him off into the wilds to be trained along with the other young boys of the village to become strong, agile men. His father was a Skarsgård, a proud lineage dating back to the beginnings, and like his ancestors, believed that a man should be a trusting provider for his kin and people. In his absence, Jediah's mother caught a strange fever and died, Øybiorn (his father) made it known that her name never be mentioned in or out of his presence so long as he shall live. Being a leader amongst their small village, the people obeyed, and upon Jediah's return at thirteen he was never privy to his mothers name or character.
Growing up without a mother was not uncommon in those days. Women did not survive birth giving, were quick to catch ailments, and were even killed off due to the strange laws of the land. So Jediah did not miss his mother, he did not know her before his turning away, and therefore had no idea what he was missing. His father was enough to keep him company. In his later teens, Jed became a father to Øybiorn. Taking over the village when his father turned to drink, and cleaning up after him when he was dragged home late at night unable to walk on his own. Jediah did not mind this, he liked the feeling of being needed, that his father provided, and after his passing some twenty years later, Jediah turned to counting on the village to depend on him.
In his early twenties, Jediah began to travel, exploring, raiding, and trading with the neighboring countries and lands. He particularly enjoyed Ireland. It was much different from his rugged homeland, while Jediah spent most of his months in snow and ice, Ireland had green hills and pastures, and constant rains that were light to the touch. It appeased Jed in a way that nothing had before. He wasn't willing to settle there though, he loved his homeland, and as long as his father was alive, he could never leave him. Instead, Jediah returned frequently, to explore and trade with the usually red-headed natives.
In his late twenties, just after his father's decline into madness and eventual death, Jed decided to take up land in Ireland. He wouldn't stay there permanently, but would treat it as an escape from the snow during the more horrendous months. He took a group of men, their wives, and children with them, leaving the elders and a few men behind to take care of their original village. He didn't worry about anyone coming to try and take over the village. It was against the shoreline, and had a dangerous terrain protecting it from the land side. Besides, he wanted to experience living in a different place for awhile. And didn't need the elders there constantly complaining of the scenery.
A few years passed this way. Jed living on the shores for a few months, then moving back to the Irish side for a few months. Continually sailing back and forth made him grow weary, always dreading the trip when it came about, but he knew that what waited on the other end was worth it. And on the eve of his twenty-eighth birthday, what waited on the Irish isles would change his life immensely.
In his absence, a small war had broken out near his line of property. He wasn't directly involved, but the neighboring land owners who were had come to visit. Both were up to the boiling point with anger at the other, and while they raged their small war over the lands, Jediah's land had happened to fall directly between them. He was asked to take a side. From the north came a comely woman that the Lord had seen fit to send. She was offered as a wife to Jediah, and having none of his own, he considered the offer. He would need to birth heirs eventually, and she seemed fit enough to handle the blood of his kin. Howbeit, before he would make his choice, he waited to see what the other Lord would send.
Days passed before anyone came to knock at the gates of his home, and when someone finally did, Jediah felt as though he had forgotten how to breathe. Before him stood the south Lord's daughter. A tiny spitfire of a woman, nothing but red hair, soft skin and a beauty that put the women of his strong hold to shame. She was introduced as Lady Makyah, an unwilling offering from the Beast of the South (the name given to the southern Lord for his harsh punishments, and greedy ways). Met with a hard decision, Jediah excused the woman from the north, telling her to let his Lord know that he would side with him should the time come.
The most impatient Lady from the south believed her job was done and that he had bid her leave. However, Jediah hadn't seen it that way. To make a very long story short, Jed worked very hard to win the love of the young Lady Makyah. Very, very hard considering her unfailing, stubborn refusal to accept his advances. It feigned of course, she could only ignore him for so long before she let go and accepted the feelings that seemed to overwhelm her.
Excited, Jediah asked for her hand. To her agreement, he whisked her away, home to his birth village to seek approval from the elders and to wed her in the same land that his parents had wed. The elders approved of their match, and the date for their binding was set for a week later. Unfortunately, what would have been the happiest of Jediah's days, never came to fruition.
On the eve of their wedding, the village he had originally seen as impregnable was attacked and thoroughly destroyed. The deviant behind it was none other then the Beast of the South, Makyah's father, who was angered by Jediah's decision to side with the north and still keep his daughter. He saw Makyah as a piece of property in his strategy to gain land, willing to give her to which ever man offered him the most in wealth. Unable to live with his daughter being married to a viking who gave him nothing, the Lord quickly set the village ablaze, and in a dramatic show of lunacy, slit his daughter's throat before ending his own life.
Jediah was left devastated. In one night he had lost the village he had grown up in, most of the people he had known all his life, and the woman he had meant to spend the rest of his life with. For days he wandered the ruins of the land, stuck in a daze, unable to wake up from his nightmare. The people left alive gave him his space, offering quiet condolences when he walked by, but never able to fully reach him. On the fifth night, Jed's paralysis finally faded, and in it's place bloomed anger and hatred. He stormed through the doors of the temple still left standing. For hours he screamed, ranted, raved, plead with the Gods. Asking Odin to bring back his love, Frigga and Rind to beg their husband to help him, he grew hoarse, giving everything he had into his prayers and hoping beyond hope that someone would answer.
It seemed like days passed before a light sparked in the shadows of the temple. Looking up, Jediah gazed upon the form of a God as it slowly paced forth into the candle light. Under the guise of Odin, Loki the trickster and liar, offered Jediah what he wished for. He told Jed that Makyah would be reborn, every century, and die on the same day, the same time, the same age as she did in this life. He would offer Jediah eternal life, making him live out the long centuries between Makyah's rebirths alone and unageing. But, once he found her, Makyah would remember her past lives with him, and they would share what years she had left. And as long as she never died before her time, she would always be reborn.
Trusting the person before him, Jediah agreed to the terms. Unknowing of what he was agreeing to.
The First Centuries
For close to eighty years, Jediah waited in turmoil for Makyah to be reborn. He hadn't aged a day, as the God had said, and he hoped he didn't lie about her rebirth. Jed left his village some years ago, slipping out at night with nothing but a note explaining to his closest friend what he wished for the village. He never settled for long in one place, moving from village to village along the shores as nothing more then a nomad. He drank, though not heavily, and filled his time with hard labor, he ignored the advances of barmaids, and lonely widows, waiting for Makyah's lovely face to grace his eyes once more.
The days and nights seemed to merge together, becoming nothing more then a long day, or after some drinking, a long sleep. He felt as though he would go mad with waiting, his mind playing tricks on him, occasionally showing Makyah's face on that of a red-headed wench, or glimpses of her turned away from him, or standing in fields long distances away. Jed didn't know what to do, he turned to drinking more, hoping to block out the sights.
Then, nearly 74 years after Makyah's death, something sparked within Jediah. He felt alive for the first time in decades, and he knew that Makyah had been born. In a way this made him feel uneasy, he hadn't known Makyah as a child, and he didn't feel right barging in on her at such a young age. In his time women were sent off to marry at young ages, but Jediah wanted her to be ready for him. The Gods had graced him with the knowledge of where she was, and Jed swiftly made his way to Ireland.
There he found Makyah's current father, and offered up the riches he had for her hand in marriage at the appropriate time. Her father agreed to Jed's terms, not allowing her to know of his existence until she was of age to be married. At seventeen she was sent to him, and upon first seeing his face, she remembered their old life. Their meeting, their short time together, and her untimely death. For nine years they lived blissfully together, she gave him a son whom brought the both of them joy for four years.
But the days grew colder for Jediah long before they should have, her death was coming, and he hadn't found it in himself to tell her of the pact he made. He realized now how selfish he had been. While he would live forever seeing her over and over, she would experience death over and over to his own gain. Not that losing her was a gain for him, but he would live for centuries without feeling death and she would continually die because of it. The days turned to night far too quickly, and before he knew it she was gone again. But this time, the Gods took not only his beloved, but the child they shared as well.
Heart broken he sent word to her family and left. Returning to the shores of Scandinavia and taking up his nomadic life once more. His days of drinking and wallowing began anew, and for years he waited to be graced by Makyah's form once more.
And for centuries, his life repeated as thus.
The Mid Centuries
As the years continued to toll on Jediah, he slowly lost what was left of his humanity. His line was no longer, his village no longer along the coasts of his homeland. His friends had died off long ago, their kin and kin of kin knew not of him or his own lineage. He had no one to talk to, that he could relate to, and it seemed lately that Makyah's returns were not as prominent on him as they had been previously. His wealth continued, he found her fathers to be more greedy then the last when he came calling on her hand, and he refused to let her fall into the hands of another.
Howbeit, as the earlier centuries had given him a spark of knowledge to her existence, these current centuries gave him nothing. He knew when she was born, he counted the days now, careful not to miss a single one, and something inside of him still sparked when she was renewed to the world. But he was no longer graced with her location. He had to search for her now, loosing years he could spend with her, because he couldn't find her fast enough. And in earlier times she would remember him immediately, now it seemed as though it took her awhile to recognize him, and she would forget bits and pieces of her old life, her previous lives with him.
During one length of decades without her, he took up his plea with the Gods once more. They had not been prominent in his life, or the life of his neighbors for many years, slowly they were beginning to sink into the recesses of history's mind to be lost. But his plea was answered once more, and before him was a God he did not recognize. It wasn't the one who had originally answered his prayers, and in confusion Jediah questioned him.
In answer he received the name and true purpose of the God. It was Loki, the God of tricksters, and lies, he had given Jediah long life, and grew bored of his romantic fantasies. He had decided to mix it up a bit, causing him to actively search for his beloved instead of having her handed to him. In annoyance Jediah continued to question him, but received nothing but riddles in return. After a time, Loki took his leave, giving Jediah one final answer.
"Your life may be long, Jediah of Skarsgård, but it has yet to truly begin."
The Wars of Man
Though Jediah was an immortal among men, he was not gifted with the powers of the Gods. And it was only a matter of time before he was brought into the idle whining of man and forced to fight. Captured on a trip across the sea, Jed was brought into the Roman-Persian wars as a slave of the Romans. He was forced to fight for them, every day another challenge to stay alive. Beside him his newly found friends died off, but Jed refused to let his life end in this way. He would see Makyah once more, and he would live to find a way to end the curse brought about the both of them.
For nearly seven centuries, Jediah's life sparked, but he was unable to go to his beloved. Either caught by the Romans, or Persian, or anyone in between them, he was forced to battle. Given his stature and raw skill he was an asset to either side. He mentally turned off his emotions, constantly at odds with the kin of men he fought along side years before them. His rage became something he fed off of, his will to see Makyah a controlling force before he became completely consumed by the anger that threatened to take over.
For centuries after the first war, Jediah continued to fight. Finding war a fine companion for his anger, the rage, and demons that wanted to swallow him whole. A few times he would stop, control himself and find Makyah. Her presence eased his soul, pushed back the darkness and gave him the strength to act as a man, and not a rabid animal. But even then, as more centuries past, and more blood was spilled by his hand, even Makyah's sweet voice and soothing love could not help him.
And soon the voice of the God entered his mind. Loki, a devil in disguise that had put him into this mess, whispered endlessly to him. Slowly he grew mad, paranoid that everything around him was a threat, to him even the chirps of birds could cause him to lash out in rage at anyone near him. In his final century with Makyah, he struck her. Never before had he laid a hand on her in such a way, always had he been loving and gentle. But now, with Loki's voice constantly in his mind, he couldn't tell the difference between the dream world and reality. He felt ashamed for the way he treated her, but could do nothing but leave her long before her time was to end.
He searched for temples that would let him pray, but found none of the old Gods. Instead he ran to a meadow, isolated from civilization and cried out to the night. He begged for death, for light, for the will to simply let go and stop fighting the pains in his mind. But no release came, no God showed before him, no answers were given.
Exhausted, Jediah passed out in the field. His eyes staring blankly up at the stars before closing them the last time as an immortal.
The War of Gods
When he awoke, he was no longer laying in a field of poppies. Instead he was sprawled upon a perch, overlooking a city he was not familiar with. And the person beside him was not the Gods of old, not Loki or Odin who he had originally tried to plea with. Instead it was a woman. Beauty seemed to fall off her in waves, her body was surrounded in a white glow that nearly hurt Jediah's eyes to stare at.
Before long she spoke. She told Jediah of herself, and the life she led as an Angel, a warrior for the God of gods. She explained how she had been watching him, knowing of the turmoil that ailed his mind and body, and offered Jediah another solution than death. She asked him to join her, and the ranks of men and women who fought for God, those embraced by the light. She could ease him, remove the taint that Loki had left within him, and give him the peace he sought. However, he would have to give up living the life of a mortal, he could no longer walk the streets and villages he used to. And never again would he be able to touch his Makyah, or make his presence known to her. He could watch her from Heaven, but never could she know of him. And while the Angel beside him offered to remove his curse, she could not for Makyah, she would continue to die in the same cycle forever.
Unsure of what to do, Jediah hesitated in his answer. He wished for the peace she could bring him, but hated the thought that Makyah would forever be stuck in a time loop. He sat, perched on the rooftop for several minutes before agreeing to the terms the Angel gave him. He may not be able to save Makyah from her torment, but in Heaven he could watch over her, and perhaps one day find a way to break her curse. To finally let her soul rest.
Without hesitation, the Angel whisked Jediah away in a showing of bright light. What happened next he couldn't remember. There was pain, pain he had never experienced when he was alive, or in all the battles he had fought for man. The light was constant, keeping him blind to anything outside of his own shell. After what seemed like decades the pain stopped, and he was filled with... Nothing. There were no more whispers from a lying God, no more pain or rage idling about in his head or body. There was nothing but peace.
Aside from gaining peace and light, Jediah had gained a pair of white wings, lined with gold that stretched wider than his mortal form. Once he was accustomed to his new body, the Angel showed before him once more. This time the soft lines of her face were sharp, and her eyes seemed to demand his compliance with her request. He was needed to fight once more. But this time he would not be fighting against the kin of friends, but demons, and devils, and Gods that did not approve of the God he was currently recruited under.
And Jediah fought for him, glad to have the taint of Loki out of him, and knowing he had something worth fighting for. Though he would never again be with Makyah, he could make sure the world she lived in was a safe one.
The Angel Years
Centuries passed, but to Jediah it seemed like mere decades. He would wake when Makyah was born, and stayed by her side throughout her time on earth. Directing her towards good choices, straying her from places she should never wander, keeping her happy and alive until her time to return to the earth was upon them.
Though as an Angel he did not have many feelings, he remembered what it was like to be protective, and jealous. He was her guardian, and a shadow to her every step and move. His eyes drifted when she fell in love with other men, his mind closed when she gave birth to babes that were not his. And his body closed off when she died. As an Angel he could sleep his time away between her rebirths. Not a real sleep, but it was something that made seventy years pass by quickly.
But every time he woke, he lost a little more of his humanity. His memories were fading, his knowledge of emotions were diminishing, he was becoming more and more like the Angels who had been born as such every time he opened his eyes. It would scare him, if he could remember what fear was, but as it stood he didn't mind losing his will to God. Maybe then he would be able to come to terms with the regret he held so close to his heart. Maybe it would wash away one day and leave him a clone of the others he fought besides.
And then disaster struck. Makyah was born to a time when those with special abilities were hunted and killed by fanatics who didn't understand what they were doing. Jediah watched the Earth below, when Makyah was born he could tell she was special, and it wasn't the kind that is easily hidden. He panicked for the first time in centuries. If Makyah died, she would never be reborn again, and he had never found a way to life her curse. She didn't deserve to die in such a way, never able to truly live her life before it was torn from her.
The Fallen
Jediah made his decision to fall. He would protect Makyah at all costs through this new rebirth. He would let her live to the time of her death, so that she would be able to come back again. He refused to let her die without allowing her to live past twenty-six. He owed her that much. He owed her the ability to reach her twenty-seventh birthday, her thirtieth, the chance to raise her children, see her grandchildren, and grow old with the man she loved, even if it wasn't him.
So, he said good-bye to the God and Angel who had rescued him centuries ago and fell to earth. The moment his feet touched the earth his emotions came back in a rush. Pain raced across his back as the white angelic wings he had lived with for so long disintegrated to white dust and feathers. Along with this new found sensation of feelings, the spark that had always been there when Makyah was alive flew through him. Exciting him in ways he hadn't, in centuries.
After a few dizzying moments, he tested out his strength, his sight, his hearing. Though he could tell that some of his powers granted to him by immortality and living in Heaven were still there, they were weaker. Setting aside those thoughts he set out to find Makyah.
It wasn't long before he reached her, but even as he stood before her, he could see that she didn't recognize him at all. It had been too many centuries since their last encounter, his journey to win her heart would be much more exhausting this time around.
Through the whispers of other Fallen, Jediah learned of Masquerade Academy, and what Makyah could find there. Leading her, and by extent her brother, to Masquerade, where he could watch over her and try to remind her of their time together.
Though he fears how she may react this time around.

`` ABILITY/POWER
As a Fallen, Jediah's abilities granted by his ascension have been weakened. However, he is still stronger than another Fallen would be. His strength is obviously much greater than a humans, and he has the ability to communicate with other Angels through thoughts, though usually the Fallen are blocked off by working Angels. He can read the minds of others, and sedate them, causing them to go unconscious by just a touch, however he cannot do this more than once in a certain amount of time.
Jediah is also able to heal himself when he's injured, and heal others but with a great toll on himself. He can exercise demons, sending them back to hell, or make them release their possession on another. Jed can also manipulate the memories of others, erasing memories or implanting fake ones, along with being able to cause someone extreme pain with just his own thoughts.
