Witty, strong willed, and arrogant Calena is the type of girl who can walk through a tornado like it's nothing but a summer breeze (figuratively speaking, of course). Well trained, she never lets any real emotion breach the surface of her hard shell. Calena feels she is the best at everything, als walks around as such. She will NEVER back down from a challenge, and will not accept defeate. Calena also sees no need to sugarcoat anything.

As far as style goes, this young lady has very fine taste. While she has been trained to love with the bare minimum, that doesn't mean that she wants to. Diamonds, silk...if it is expensive, chances are Calena loves it.

Calena was born with the name Katherine Van Dyke, to a family of old money. Lillian and Robert loved their daughter more than life itself, and for a while, they had the perfect family. Both Lillian and Robert came from old money families, thanks to Lillian's great grand father the horse trainer and Robert's great great grand father the innovator. As a child, Katherine has the perfect childhood...except for one little thing. Katherine found out she was gifted in a not so perfect way. Katherine was the young age of 4 and in the middle of a tantrum because her mother told her she had to wait until after lunch to play with her pony. Katherine for mad, and the fruit bowl on the kitchen table burst into flames. This of course, scared the young child, which only caused the fire to grow more wild. Her mother was able to put it out and calm the child with a warm hug, but there was no going back from there. Her parents had hears whispers about strange things regarding people with unique abilities, but for the sake of their child, they made the decision to keep her gift a secret from public eyes. They were able to find a specialist with gifted abilities to help Katherine learn to control her gift, and for a few years, life was almost normal.

The night before Katherine's 7th birthday, Their large estate become the victim of a robbery gone terribly wrong. Katherine woke up to loud noises and thundering footsteps. Terrified, the young girl started running through the house, and with the feeling of being chased making her feel threatened, her gift took control, sparking a fire that would consume the entire house. Katherine ran out of the burning house, not daring to look back. she hid in the woods for the night, in a fire-resistant tree-house she use to play in with her parents. The next morning, reality set in as she saw the property abuzz with authorities, blue, red and white lights filling the morning sky.

Not long after she woke up, she was found by a man named Symon. He told the child that he was camping not far from their property, and witnessed the entire thing. Symon told Katherine that she set the house on fire with her gift, trapping her parents inside, making her believe that her fear was caused by a nightmare. He said that she would be blamed for the death of her parents, and said she was sure to be locked up due to her lethal gift. Symon extended a hand to the child, telling her that he would keep her safe and treat her like his own. His voice was like silver to the young girl, and after he gave her a warm hug, she was following him away from the burnt house and away from her past. Little did she know that if she would have ran home towards the flashing lights, she would have been informed that her parents cause of death was a lethal shooting, and her fire had taken out her parents killers.

Symon gave Katherine Van Dyke the new identity of Calena Rose Sardathoren the new name of and soon Calena learned just the type of gentleman Simon Archibald was. He did hold up his end of the deal, he provided everything Calena could possibly need, only in return, he asked that she do some things for him in return. He trained her much in the manner that most super-spys are trained, demanding perfection from his gifted young lady. Calena was introduced to the dark world of the Shattered Sight Guild, of which Simon was the master. Calena was his prodigy, his pride and joy that was one of the very select few trained by Symon himself.

Much to the dismay of the majority of the guild (though fear of Symon kept them from speaking out), when Calena was the ripe age of 17, was promoted from hunter to tasker, and given a special task- pose as a student at the Masquerade Academy. Calena of course, accepted her task as an honor, and took up her role as a master of disguise.
