Osa stared out the open window of his office. There was a light breeze which he secretly enjoyed since his office was always ten degrees warmer than the rest of the school. He took in a deep breath, the smells from the cafeteria wafting in his window and enticing him. A grumble started in his stomach and he frowned. I suppose I should eat. He usually didn't eat outside of his office, Osa enjoyed the quiet and it gave him time to think about things he was otherwise too preoccupied to think about. Shutting the window he turned towards the double doors of his office and exited. He wouldn't spend too much time in the cafeteria, just long enough to grab a quick bite and head back into his office.
Slowly he made his way towards the cafeteria on the second floor, his hands held behind his back in their usual fashion. He offered nods to the staff he passed on his walk, forgoing the elevators at the end of the hall and taking the stairs. Osa didn't get much exercise seeing as his office and his personal living space were basically right next to each other. Only when he went to the theater to make speeches or walked down the stairs to the lobby did he actually get his body moving. Thankfully the stairs were bare today, the students were either busy in classes or outside enjoying the last few weeks of sunshine. The rainy season would be on them soon, which was weird for Nevada, but Osa had manufactured Brookings to be different than the rest of the world. He had his ways of making things appear and act just as he wanted to.
Osa was light on his feet for being such a tall man. He barely made any sound as he took each step up the stairs and exited out into the hallway of the second floor. Between him and food were several student dorms and the infirmary. As he walked down the hallway he glanced up for a split second every few feet. Camera's lined the hallway outside each of the doors. Osa liked to see what was going on in his school. And for the most part he was pleased that his favorite technology nut had placed the cameras where he wanted them. It was hard to find good help these days, but aside from Jackson's alpha attitude he worked well with Osa.
A couple of students rushed past him, backpacks bouncing against their bodies as they ran towards the girl's dormitory doors. He paused, watching them from the sidelines of the hall as they pushed each other through the doors laughing. His face was stoic, he didn't care much for the lives of most of the people in the school. He only cared for the ones who were useful to him, and from what he could see these two gigglers wouldn't offer him much more than a headache. With a sigh he continued his journey, the hunger pains in his stomach becoming more prevalent the longer he went without munching down on food.
As he neared the cafeteria the energy on the hallway seemed to change, there was a buzzing noise that broke the silence, Osa didn't exactly like it, but it was unavoidable as he stepped into the doorway. In front of him were a mass of students, all ages and sizes. They were eating and laughing, talking at such paces he felt his head whirl as he tried to focus on one conversation after the other. His hands gripped one another as he walked into the room, his presence unnoticed for the most part. The chef's behind the buffet line gave him an odd look, but didn't question his appearance in the room. He glanced at each bowl of offerings, salads and meats stared up at him, for a lunch it was quite exquisite and he soon realized why the food at the school cost so much. Spoiled.
He eyed a slab of beef at the carving station and for a moment questioned why such a thing even existed at a school before he turned his attention to a small cesar salad, grabbed it and a bottle of water and then sat at a table by himself to enjoy his food. He lowered his head over the bowl, watching the crowd of students before him continue about their business. His stomach felt better and he was feeling less grumpy as he continued to eat. His eyes staying on the students and studying them each in turn, his thoughts turning to whom would make a great candidate for his experiments. It took him a few moments to even realize that someone else had approached the table.
