A princess always carries herself with dignity and grace. She is confident, capable under pressure, intelligent, and gentile. She knows how to choose her company wisely and how to gain the confidences of those who can help her. She knows how to listen. She knows how to by kind. She knows how to make herself wanted. And she knows how to use what she learns to get what she needs. She knows how to keep others at arms length, even as they bare their souls to her.

Ygraine is a princess.

To the world she presents a confident, put together appearance. She is generally seen as spirited, confident, and proud but approachable. She usually has a smile for everyone, even people she doesn't really like. She has a skill for making people feel welcome. She is trained to put on a good show. It's second nature. She attends the parties, makes friends, gets into just enough trouble to be 'cool' and helps divert enough disasters to be 'the good sort'. She knows she can't make everyone love her, or even like her, but she tries her damnedest to make sure her skeletons are buried deep. If the worst someone can bring against her is some small social faux pas then she counts it as a success. By choosing to act kindly even towards those who don't like her, she knows it usually looks better to the outside people watching the interaction play out. It is exhausting.

At her heart, Ygraine is an introvert. She wants time alone. She wants to be good at something that has nothing to do with people. She likes learning well enough but her heart isn't in academia and books. Her ideal time is when she can focus on nothing outside of her own body. That's why she loves dance as much as she does, or other strenuous physical activities. More competitive with herself than others, she always is pushing to improve at the things she find solace in. If it makes her too busy to flash charming smiles and make small talk with strangers, all the better.

She is fascinated by people who can create things. Painters, builders, sculptors, carpenters. Taking raw material and making it into something beautiful or useful is something that makes her heart ache every time she sees it.

The Felwulf Pack has dominated the shifters of New Mexico for the past thirty years. By virtue of being massive they have driven out many other varieties of shifter or forced the smaller 'prides' to swear fealty and tighte to the Felwulf Pack. The town of Felwulf itself is entirely made up of shifters and their families, established some hundred years ago when the Pack began to grow large. Morgan Bowen has been alpha since shortly after the founding of the town when she challenged and slew the previous alpha. Through cunning, strength, and an incredibl force of will she has grown the Felwulf pakc into a force to be reckoned with. However, there were many who took issue with the fact that she never took a mate, nor conceived of any children.

But you see, Morgan Bowen had a plan.

In her younger years she had met one of the rare few shifters born of a gifted parent who had inherited some of the Gift themselves. Though he was a weak and skittish thing, she saw the possibilities immediately. Though only thing she needed was a suitable candidate. And Morgan was picky. So years passed. Then she saw him. A young man from Wales on vacation who she saw light a cigarette without a match. He was strong, attractive, and Gifted. She wanted him and Morgan Bowen gets what she wants.

Ygraine and Emrys know little of their father. They were never introduced to him and when they continually failed to show any hint of Gift Morgan killed him in a fit of pique. They do know that his part in their conception was not necessarily willing. So the twins were born a disappointment, and Morgan's body barren from the hard pregnancy despite the typical hardiness of a shifter. So she went to work on what she had. The girl was clearly, to her eyes, far superior to her male twin purely by virtue of gender. She quickly saw that trying to turn them against each other did not work so well as encouraging their bonds and leveraging their affection for one another to get what she wanted.

Ygraine grew up knowing that she would likely take her mother's place one day. All her life she has been raised to the expectation of power, groomed to be exactly what her mother wanted her to be. She was enrolled in self-defense classes before she could learned to read. She has always been put in the best private schools money could buy- within the country. Morgan wanted her children where she could reach them and an ocean was just too much of an inconvenience. Ygraine has learned primarily to do as her mother says, getting away with small defiances in the shadows by being a perfect child in the light. Too, she knows that any infraction will bring far more punishment down on her brother's head than her own and he has already suffered enough for her.

Both Ygrained and her twin have attended Masquerade since they were old enough since it's reputation far exceeds other similar schools.

`` ABILITY/POWER Ygraine's shifted form is that of a maned wolf. Already the tallest of canines, her form is not much larger than a natural maned wolf. Her fur is rich auburn with black legs and a black, ridged mane. A white bib on her throat and at the tip of her tail mark her just like any other maned wolf. It is only her pale blue eyes that mark her as something unusual.
