Carefree, as well as daring, those hunting gifted like her, better watch out. She's young enough to still be a bit childish, but not young enough for people to find it odd that she's out and about on her own. Something that happens a lot, as a speedster.

Ever since gaining her powers, she's been using it as irresponsibly as one would expect from a kid, just borderline qualified to be a teen. Though other than for mild amusement, she means no harm in how she uses her powers, and assuming she doesn't spot it, doesn't really intend on being a hero, for the sake of her family.

Weekends.

Ever since she was little, they had always been something to look forward to. And the reason? That had been her uncle on her mother's side. His job often had him traveling a lot, though he always managed to come back home to London.

And when he did, he always brought back pictures of him hanging out with the locals. A rather funny sight, considering in each one, he was wearing a business suit, compared to their apparel.

Seeing these pictures, and listening to the stories of what happened during these trips of his, it couldn't be helped, growing up and finding that she had wanted to do the same.

Her uncle did take her with him on several trips during the summer, and while she had been happy during those trips, having it end, wasn't exactly something that she had found pleasing.

With her need to attend school, it would be another long wait. Something that would be on her mind, as the school year started.

Life at school was as normal as could be. She participated on the Track Team, longing for the weekend to come, and hear from her uncle on what she was missing out during the school year.

Their relationship stayed relatively the same for the most part, though she recognized stress when she saw it.

Being young, it wasn't really something she liked listening to, and although he didn't really talk much about it, the change in mood on certain weekends was obvious.

It was enough to have her go for a jog and be away while things cooled off, which was around the time that the world had changed.

The sight was both entertaining, and worrying. If powers were a thing, what did that mean for the city she lived in?

Though she thought about it, she found that what she had been thinking, had been too serious. Something that she didn't really want, having seen what had happened with her uncle.

So she started thinking about why this was happening instead, and whether or not she would get anything, as well as how amazing having powers could be for the world.

It was much better to think about the positives than the negatives, right? Coming back home to a worried family, who was just glad she was safe, the rest of the evening had been wishful thinking.

The next morning however, she found that her hair had some streaks in it. A change too peculiar not to have anything to do with powers. The results was trying to test it out, with the insistence that she was going to be careful about it.

She might have looked a little daft trying to summon or absorb electricity, and maybe even had gotten a bit frustrated when it didn't work. But if not for that, figuring things out would have been put off.

Realizing that her powers were connected to speed, had only been because she had jogged to relieve and clear her head.

Beyond the streaks, there wasn't really any visible proof she had powers either. So life had gone on somewhat normally for her.

Moving to Brookings, only happened due to hostility around where she had lived, and rather than the whole family moving, she had left England with her uncle. Someone who she could relate to more.

Her uncle aspired her love of traveling, though had somewhat changed in personality over the years. Since the move, the excitement he once held is somewhat back, but he still worries about his niece. Hasn't exhibited any powers.

`` ABILITY/POWER
SUPERHUMAN SPEED - Ability to run, react, think or sense at a faster speed than a normal human.

Contrary to physics, carrying someone while running at superhuman speed, actually doesn't have someone burst into flames. Though it does mess up their hair when wind catches up.

Time seems to slow down for Skylar when using her ability, although currently, it's a phase in/phase out concentration kind of thing. She also can only accelerate and decelerate.

Meaning, if she wants to play pranks on people, she'll be running around the same spot for awhile, without practice.

Later down the line, those restraints won't be necessary. Instead, her metabolism will be quicker, requiring her to consume more food. Running will be more short bursts, than something constant as well.
